Machete!
So…Machete is the feel good movie of 2010! It was over the top, ridiculous, bloody fun that never really takes itself seriously. It is Mexploitation cinema at its finest! My only gripe (one of my many gripes with ‘The Expendables’) is the use of CGI blood! So fake-looking! So disappointing. Danny Trejo does a good job, and Lindsey Lohan does well playing a drugged-out, wanna be internet celeb. But the best is Steven Segal as a mexican drug lord! Segal as a hispanic is a stretch, and his fine acting talents are put to the test. His final scene is awesome! Worth price of admission!
I went into this with pretty low expectations, just wanting to see something fun/stupid, and that’s exactly what I got. The individual I saw this with won’t admit it, but I know she liked it more than she lets on. It took some coaxing and drinks, but I know she liked it. Segal’s act alone made this picture! So cheesy.
